My life story began to be very challenging since my father was passed away when I was 15 years old. As the first son in my family I realize that sooner or later I had the responsibility to sustains my family life. I will be the first man (older) in my family that would be their hope to take care of living cost, being good model for my young brothers, and make sure they’ll have same opportunities to get higher education as my promise to myself.
Going to college after graduated from high school at that moment when my family financial wasn’t good is just like dream for me. What was logic for me at that time is to find a job and helping my mom take care of my young brothers. For truth, I’ve worked as a cellular phone shopkeeper for 4 months until the happy news finally come to change my future. The good news is, I’ve promoted and granted to get full scholarship at the Electronic Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya (EEPIS) for Diploma 3 in electronics engineering major. Later then I know that this was my first step to a bigger adventure.
Studying electronics engineering at EEPIS has given me Electronic Engineering as my passion. My first year in college is an adaptive process, and then on the second and third year I’ve gained a lot of things. On Engineering materials I’ve learned about basic and advanced Electronic Circuits & Materials, Control Systems, Microcontrollers, Microprocessors, Computer Network, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing. During my final project I proposed my final project to the Directory of Higher Education of Indonesia in Student Creativity Program – Technology (PKM-T) and they granted my research proposal. On my final project I’ve been working with Arduino platform which was new for EEPIS environment, Bluetooth module with Serial Port Profile communication protocol, 3-axis Accelerometer, Wireless Bluetooth GPS, and a GSM modem to create applicative engineering product for detecting car crash and report its location to the nearest hospital and police station. For me electronic has become my addiction to keep learning new things and make it useful for people. That is my passion.
During college I have learned not only about electronics engineering material, but also about being social person by manage Electronic Student Association as chairman during my 4th to 5th semesters. For sustaining my college daily budget I’ve been working as Robotic lecturer at Elementary, Junior High and Senior High school. From those experiences I’ve learned a lot about how to interact with people, working with them as team, negotiating, and managing vision and missions to reach the goal of the organization. Even though everything wasn’t always working on the right way, sometimes we have to deal with mistakes and process to gain our goals. Those experiences at the end increase my confident to work harder and never giving up on any challenges in life.
Asian Youth Student Exchange Program to Japan is one of my dream that waiting to be realized. I have so much amazed by my lecturers that have opportunities to study abroad and then comeback to Indonesia to spread their knowledges. Since I have read the announcement, I became so excited and keep working to do my best to reach Akashi National College of Technology (ANCT). I am sure by participating in Asian Youth Student Exchange Program I will earn more knowledge and valuable experience, and at the same time share it with other people for a better future of us all.
In future I will planning to continue my study to get graduate in Diploma IV and then looking for scholarship to study in Japan and then become lecturer. For these reasons the opportunities that offered by Asian Youth Student Exchange Program is very important for me.
